With apologies to all those who have no interest in the Commonwealth Games, I have a question to all others.
I am trying to find out which Commonwealth Games competitor, in any sport, holds the record for the number of medals won.
At the moment I still believe it to be Phil Adams the Australian pistol shooter with 18. Any advance on that number?

Thanks for that. In fact England's shotputter Judy Oakes also competed in 6 Games. She won a medal in each one.Pradeep5 wrote:That's correct, Phil with 18 medals (7 Gold, 9 Silver and 2 Bronze) has the most, won over 5 games. I think he is also the only person to have competed at 6 games.
I was wondering whether anyone broke Phil's record in Melbourne. Nobody springs to mind.
Thanks again.

Thanks for that. I think you are talking about Samaresh Jung. 5 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze froma single Games is a fantastic, brilliant, unbelievable achievement. I had considered him but his total of CG medals is "only" 12.Anonymous wrote:One Guy from India collected 7 medals in the just concluded Melbourne edision of the Games.
There are at least 2 shooters, Mick Gault and Jaspal Rana, with a total of 15 each.
It still looks like Phil Adam's 18 is the one to beat.
