What State(s) Has/Have an Olympic Shooting Facility?

Post by Jim E »

Is it true only Kalifornia has the last remaining shooting facility currently operating that was used for the Olympic Games.

KUDO's to Sandy for all his unselfish work to preserve the shooting sport.

The Summer Olympics haven't been visiting the USA much to begin with. LA twice, Atlanta, St Louis in 1904 didn't have shooting. Just for fun, where did they shoot in the first LA Olympics? 1984 Chino range wasn't much to look at, but -yes - it sure is nice that it is still there. Pity it's on the flood plain.

i remember reading that the 32 oly shooting was conducted at the LA Police Academy.

I also recall reading that all the foreigners went out to local gun shops and bought decent guns to take home with them.... try THAT these days!

There is soon to be a USAS competition range in Kerrville, TX. It will open the first of next year and be the largest public range in USAS history.

Check out the USAS website for more info.
