cleaning advise

Post by Albert »

Guys,

Having served in the Dutch army (compulsary) many years ago, I had the change to collect a substential amount of the Nato gun cleaning oil.
Can anyone advise me how suitable this stuff is for cleaning and maintaining .22 rifles and pistols?
How good is it in removing powder residue and lead?

Thanks,
Albert

If it's the CLP (Cleaner Lubricant Protectant) that should be the same as Breakfree which is sold here comercially. If it's just Oil, then it would be fine for lubrication, but not a good powder or copper solvent.

But for the cost of modern target guns, I'd buy new cleaning chemicals.
