We just picked up a Rika trainer for our club.
Does anyone have the following:
A real manual in english?
We bought this used and refurbished. There is no manual and I am guessing. I down loaded the quick start guide but I think there is a lot more to know.
Any tips about usage?
We shoot air rifle and air pistol.
We had it up and I was able to get it centered on the 5 shot group. We used it set this way for the evening. At least we saw the hold pattern.
The problem came in with other shooters around. It was picking up the other shooters reports and showing a shot on the screen. Any clues on this? We played with the microphone settings to no avail.
How do you use the "Fine Tuning" I ahve no clue and could not get shots to show.
Is the tracking always jerky? It does not seem real smooth. We are not using a state of the art lap top, but it is still a pentium class machine.
Does anyone have experience with the heart and trigger monitors? We don't have them but we could get them if there was indeed a good enough reason for them. We are a Junior club with kids going to all kinds of National events (Jr Olympics, Ft Benning, NRA Nationals) as well as being State Champions. I say this so you know the caliber of shooters that we have, not for bragging, although.......... Just kidding!
Anyway, any help would help :)
Thanks

Peter,
just some quick hits as I am leaving Georgia, and won't be home till late Monday, making some stops on the way back. Iits a bad week for us, I have been at the World cup and Warren is in transition between moving from Oregon for the next few weeks
tracking should not be jerky, unless its a really slow computer
I don't know about it picking up other shooters shots, never had that problem. it should only be getting the vibration through the metal. I would really want to play with it some to verify this.
I'm not sure what you mean by fine tuning, can you explain this?

OK.. Thanks for at least posting. I know you guys are busy. Jay V. has been dealing with you guys for a while now.
The lap top is a Pentium class. I would have to see what the real speed is though and what kind of mem. it has.
The software is labeled 3.8. so this is newer that what is on this site for down load.
I was advised by another poster that the manual should be on the disk. Well there is help but it is in German. There is no real manual on the cd provided.
Fine tuning: There is a box called fine tuning. This is after the intial calibration. I pick it and the target and 4 rectangles appear on the target. One each at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. I can get it to do nothing after this. That is until a get out of it. If I had more info on it I could tell you more, but as it is, I can't. I don't even know what good it is.
We are using the trainer. I have somewhat hacked my way through it. There is a lot more to it than I have found though.
I really want to use this trainner to the best of it's and my abilities. This is why I am asking about manuals and help.
Thanks
