First it was West Virginia, then Xavier, now it is Massachusetts Maritime Academy! They were just informed Monday April 4th that the rifle program was cut. Details are uncertain as of yet but the rifle coach (Bill Strumski) and the Athletic Director were not aware of this impending action until locks were getting changed!!!
The Team has the Support of the Cadets and the alumni. It was susggested that anyone/everyone concerned with MMA rifle and collegiate rifle in general, write letters to:

Any help you can give would greatly be appreciated. They have started a petition (One will be online shortly, please look for it and sign it to save yet another collegiate program!)

Sad state for sure. Makes me wonder how many other programs will go down or be in danger in the future.
Seems to me there are great shooters coming out of the collegiate ranks all the time but if the programs fail...where will the shooting sports be at in the US....
Tough spot to be in for sure.
