Just WASTED an entire travel itinerary for the FABULOUS MORINI 200EI to take a Swiss-shit six minutes into the sight-in period at CMP-South Match.

EXACT same problem as Pirate's 200EI - which each pistol was obtained from completely different source & we live in different states. BOTH pistols have Shat-der-Lederhosen ; damned if I must send the board back to Switzerland.
Two-for-two in defective pistols; only, this one cost me all the time, money, effort of an entire match.

( . . . and I was too stupid to bring my so-called "backup" 162s . . . much easier for me to pitch all Morini garbage into the trash.)

Naïve question: Why are you guys married to electronic trigger / solenoid / circuit board for competition when there are excellent mechanical triggers out there?

I get the frustration. But If I had that kind of reaction to a gun failing and started recommending against them I would be running out of brands to buy from by now. I had competition sinking failures with Morini (both cylinders failing to hold pressure at the same time after a break), Steyr (randomly firing within about 10s after cocking) and Pardini SP (two or three times for various reasons). I also had Haemmerli guns (old swiss ones) die on me before all of that. I also received a Walther LP500 with unworkable sights and I helped a buddy patch up a new GSP500 grip that spontaneously broke during competition.

I guess the only brand I can still buy is Feinwerkbau? Which is only a matter of not having used it enough I'm sure. (Edit: actually, while I think the P8X is fine I found that whenever I try someone else's, because I like trying other peoples guns, their absorber is misadjusted.)

Of course all of this happened over a span of 25 years. I did learn to bring spares whenever it really mattered.

The biggest problem are the owners themselves that do not know how the triggers work and adjust them outside the design parameters.
A Air Pistol with two stage trigger is made up of 1st stage weight plus second stage weight to make up the minimum 500g weight.
Typical ratio from the various factories is 300-350g on 1st stage and 150-200g on 2nd stage.
A lot of shooters think that a light to very light 2nd stage shoots better. (Hint it does not, second stage should never be less than 100g.)

Electronic triggers also have extra spring weight in the system. The sub micro switch has an internal spring on the switch lever, it has an operating force and a release reset force.
Depending on the micro switch model these forces can be between 12g to 300g.
Common reset forces are 25g to 150g.
If you try to reduce the trigger 2nd stage weight to a very low figure then the micro switch will not reset and the trigger will not work or be intermittent.
To get a crisp release point you need a positive reset weight or the trigger becomes vague in feel.
The Morini triggers require the 1st stage to be between 300 to 700g and the 2nd stage to be between 50g to 300g. (as listed in manual.)
ie. 1st stage 300g / 2nd stage 200g up to 1st stage 450g / 2nd stage 50g.
I suspect that the Morini sub micro switch has an operating weight of 12g to 226g and a reset of 50g. Hence the minimum 2nd stage of 50g.

The other problem is that the shooters adjusting these triggers do not have the dial relay weight test gauges to read and set these intermediate trigger weights. They only have a total trigger 500g weight and the rest is guess work.

The neither the CM200 nor the EVO10e have a microswitch (neither does the CM84 free pistol). They have a gold contact that is closed by the second stage spring and fire once that opens.

No adjustments at all. None. Ten weeks into brand new pistol. Pirate's new, broken 200 going back to Switzerland. Mine? New, from Champion's Choice: test to see if their customer service can handle "problem," if not?
