Standard scoring system

Post by Ziperix »

I've often seen posts here such as "beginners should aim to shoot 520" etc but what's not clear to me is whether that includes the decimal part or not? I've got into AP recently and I'm not sure which score to look at from my target scan app.

Air pistol doesn't use decimal scoring except in Finals, so go for the integer score.

PirateJohn is CORRECT! Integer scores for pistol.

Pistol: No one has ever scored a "perfect" 600. MAP: WR=594; Jr. WR=588. WAP: WR=591; Jr. WR=585. American record = 591.

Rifle: Routinely see 60 scores, all 10.0+; even the CMP matches, you'll see "600" regularly. (Go ARMY ladies!!!)

Hence, at the top matches for rifle, you could drop the "6" off the start of a "6xx.xx" score. Thus, MAR WR=37.9; WAR WR=35.3.

Basically, the rifle scores "start" at 600 & then accumulate "Decimal" points: Thus, any 9.x would "subtract" from the top of 600.x-plus.
