Anodized BB's

Post by moonlightrun »

I have a bottle of "Black Diamond Anodized .177 Steel BB's" and
I'm curious about their accuracy in my pellet rifles. Before I
let curiosity get the best of me, I thought I would ask those who
know.

Will these damage the rifling in my barrel or not?

Thanks,

Bob

Anodized? Steel? Hmmm ....

I wouldn't put anything steel thru a conventional rifled barrel on a good airgun. Risk of damage, and likely mediocre accuracy to begin with.

The old Powerline polygon barrels were ok. I shot a lot of BB's thru mine, until I discovered how much better Crosman pellets performed on blue-jays. At least the ones that didn't slide out the barrel if I tipped it down. And then I got some 'Hobby' pellets ...

There's one way to find out. Why run the risk?

You'll shoot your eye out.

Okay, thanks. I'll save my BB's for my BB gun. Still hoping I don't shoot my eye out!
