New shooter Canister charging

Son just got a AA T200 and was looking for the best cost effective way to charge the canister for practice at home. I've seen the hand pumps but was not sure about the shot count that it allows. Or is it best to spend the $3-400 on a canister setup?

You can pick up a SCUBA tank from Craigslist for around $50. Best bet would be to go to a dive shop and buy a used tank (in date and full).
