FWB CO2 fill adapter question

Post by 6string »

Hi All,

I recently picked up a beautiful FWB CO2 model 2 pistol.
I have a question about the fill adapter. Is this supposed to have a filter of some sort?
The one I have is a brand new replacement (sold as a CO2 fill adapter) and it has the robust and well made brass body with a nylon looking white insert with a small hole through it.
Thanks,
Jim

No filter needed. The CO2 is clean enough for food service as they use it directly into soft drinks and beer

Hi Spektr,

Thanks for the reply. Actually, that's an interesting point you make!
I got two tanks and a pile of pressure gauges, CO2 fixtures off of a guy on Craigslist that had planned use it for a beer kegerator.
I got the fill adapter from our host (I go to them first whenever I can) and that's the way it arrived (ie: no filter).

If you use a CO2 tank that has bene anywhere near a beverage system, get it inspected. That way they can make sure there's no water in it. A friend of mine got a "good deal" on a beverage CO2 tank and ended up with the world's most expensive water pistol.
