Pardini has come a long way. We got our first PGP's in 1983 and our first SPE's in 1989. Got them from Fiocchi of America. Purchased because they were really inexpensive, around $700. Less than Hammerli and Walther, which were over $1000, if I remember correctly. Sort of funny, but we thought the Pardini's were of low quality, maybe just a little better than our High Standards, but we are still shooting the 35+ year old guns (still occasionally using the 45+ year old High Standards, too)

pardini issued a statement on their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/armipardini/po ... %2CO%2CP-R
"It's a great day for Pardini Armi at #tokio2020: our SP pistols win 3 MEDALS in 25m Pistol Women’s event with 41 out of 44 shooters using SPs. Congratulations to the medallists Vitalina Batsarashkina (ROC, Gold), Minjung Kim (KOR, Silver) and Jiaruixuan Xiao (CHN, Bronze)."

I'd be more impressed if they won three medals with 3 out of 44 shooters using their pistols....

Thanks, it was there in small print eventually.
Refers to another note which I can't find.

another statement from "Pardini Armi" in FB:
"This is another great day for Pardini Armi. Today at #tokyo2020 all 25m Rapid Fire Pistol shooters used our Pardini SP-RF pistols and #pardiniarmi won 3 more medals."
their domination is pretty complete.
is there any chance that a new pistol design will appear in the future?

The MatchGuns MG2 EVO should be a serious competitor, but they need to get all the bugs out first. They are getting better, but I guess not to the point where someone is willing to risk a Gold medal on one.
Re: The winner of the Women's 25m Pistol Olympic Final is....
Is it really the pistol that maketh the man?
It would be really interesting to get first hand comments from the shooters as to whether it was being given a “free” pistol or was a choice that they made to shoot a Pardini. Maybe it is the support that Pardini provides at competitions.
You’d have to be there to know.

Pardinis seem to be the most reliable by a fair margin, for a while there was the Schumann effect, otherwise I dunno.
Re: The winner of the Women's 25m Pistol Olympic Final is....
Pardinis may be very reliable but I noticed that all(?) the shooters in the Women's 25m and the Men's RF had a spare (Pardini) pistol to hand.

No doubt David, but it goes to the issue of reliability in David M's thread about what makes the Pardini RF pistol so attractive. Obviously it’s NOT reliability.

I don't think I ever had to use one of my spare guns in competition.
You don't carry spare guns because you need them, you carry them in case you need them.
They are just insurance: a small cost in the overall scheme of things.

The need for insurance was no better illustrated than by the Indian AP shooter and the issue she had with her Morini. A spare pistol might have saved her day. $2k is nothing compared to the costs incurred to get in the door at a high level competition.David Levene wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 7:41 am I don't think I ever had to use one of my spare guns in competition.

I understand that she was carrying a spare but, for some reason (much discussed in the Indian press), she was not happy with the grip.Green_Canoe wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 8:28 am The need for insurance was no better illustrated than by the Indian AP shooter and the issue she had with her Morini. Tip: if you are going to carry a spare then make sure you train with it to make sure it works and feels right.
