You don't WANT the sights and target clear. You only want the front sight focused on. You may be using the iris too small (if you have one), or the wrong diopter.

With the target sharp, you may be trying to "ambush" it as it wanders by. Keep in mind that what you are seeing and doing is in the past due to mental processing time.
Thanks. Only been at this discipline a year. Still working ot out. Tiny diopter is dark but clear. Am still aiming for perfectly clear front sight with a near clear target. With small diopter I can even see the dark spot on target which informs me that my eye is looking through centre of the hole.
I then opened diopter up effectively just using vision barrier on weak eye but not much better scores.
At present, without eye patch, I can actually see the front sight with both eyes. I focus fractionally in front of the front sight and ignore the front sight that the left eye is seeing. Sorry just realised I've hijacked this topic.

I wouldn´t say that the Thread is Hijacked GeraldS1. One of the main reasons we are doing this, is to share HOW we get these scores. Some more that others. Everybody benifits from all information shared.

Yes, all posts regarding how we shoot are welcome. i don't care how many posts we get. I will look thru all to find the scores, and I learn from others.

On the sights issue, I have had my eye doctor set me up with a special pair of glasses. He sets up a chart at the distance of the front sight on my air pistol. With these i can set the front sight clearly, the bull is fuzzy. When I see both the front sight and the bull clearly I kept looking at the bull and pulling shots.

I´m guessing we are shooting these Monthly Shoots to see where we stand amongst the people who take this seriously. No advantage in knowing I shoot always 10th place and no way to better myself. Let me go first:

Tweeking on my "Process": It never hurts to think about a old or new process as long as we shoot compition! Hint: I now fix my sights before I move down to the Target. Then I concentrat about my grip, then about follow thru.

I must add something to my score. The Virgin Swedish Bikini Team has been tested vor Corona19. Results: 100% positive, but no symptoms! We have been together as a Team since February 2020. Go figure..We are not complaining, They can´t go home, and they love it! (Not bragging)
