Cylinder pressures wrt match prep

Hi guys

Is it common practice to fill the air cylinder just before a match?
Do you fill it then shoot x shots?

Also I've noticed that with my walther lp400 it shoots sub 6o clock hold while in the green pressure zone of the gauge. But in the yellow region as it moves down the yellow region I need to aim higher and higher. Do TADT (they all do that)?

I fill the air bottle right after each training and match. You don't want to be in a hurry and have to wait in line before the match starts.

You have to learn where the gauge indicator is when you start having issues and stay clear of that. In principle you should not go that far down with a full refill. I've shot around 100 shots with my guns when they were only charged to 150 (P8X, Evo10).

If your shots start to drop you should definitely go for a refill.

Always start a Match with a full cylinder.
Any head pressure variation or regulator cycling is done in the first few sighting shots.
A full tank is enough for sighters, a match, even sighters and a final.
But I will still re-fill for a final.
If travelling by air to a comp the cylinder will be empty and need to be refilled.

My Morini CM164MI has a lockout and won't cock once the cylinder pressure falls to the yellow zone (~100 bar). I thought maybe they all did, but obviously not.

My SAM10 has a lockout. It seems to work perfectly. I once accuracy tested a Morini (if I recall correctly). The accuracy went bad about fifteen shots before lockout. I don't know if the POI changed. It would still be MY first choice of another gun.

Anyway, I ALWAYS fill my cylinders before a shooting session. I think the manometers in general SUCK. I would not depend on them.

I shoot sighters and 60 on a fill.
I also have 2 cylinders and both get filled at the start.....

I had my Morini 162EI serviced once, and it came back cranked up to 560 FPS (nominal is ~ 500 FPS). The lockout was also overly aggressive, and would kick out at around 90 to 100 bar when I still had 20 or 30 perfectly good shots left. If I was shooting with short cylinders, making it through a match would have been difficult. I sent it back & got it fixed properly.

Then I would probably suspect that they have a problem with their gun. Nobody can be THAT stupid :-)
