USA Shooting Announces October Postponement of Olympic Smallbore Trials Part 2 and Paralympic Trials

Post by USA Shooting »

USA Shooting announces that the Olympic Smallbore Rifle Trials Part 2 and the Paralympic Trials that were scheduled at Fort Benning, Georgia October 7-11, 2020 are postponed.

The decision is due to the potential that contenders for the Olympic Team or Paralympic Team could be excluded from competition if they presented with COVID-19 symptoms at the Fort Benning venue.

USA Shooting is evaluating additional options for dates, venues, and mitigation steps to keep our athletes safe while selecting Olympic and Paralympic Teams in accordance with our values, bylaws, and the Ted Stevens Amateur Sports Act. In accordance with guidance provided by the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee, USAS will release modified team selection procedures for the Paralympic and Smallbore Rifle events aimed at protecting the safety of the athletes and their right to compete.

Reimbursements for Smallbore Trials Part 2 will be distributed through Sport80. Athletes should see those reimbursements process within the next couple of weeks.

All updates will be sent to our members and athletes as well as posted on social media platforms.

Thank you to our community for your continued patience and unwavering support.
