Ice or no ice in your Bourbon?

Re: Ice or no ice in your Bourbon?
I've told this story on here before, but it's worth repeating.
I got to chatting with a guy at PRGC. He was a guest of one of the members. He said he was a Russian neurosurgeon. I made some little vodka joke and he replied that in his profession they usually had a shot or two before brain surgery to reduce "essential tremor."
It sounded reasonable to me, but then I was at Camp Perry the year the MPs took the National Police Champion off the line in handcuffs (drunk).

It seems that the concept of "shooting wet" was taken just a tad too far by that fella eh!

I have my ice with no bourbon, so I assume if I invite you over, you will just stay home and drink your bourbon . If you do come over I certainly have plenty of ice.

Out here, where water (irrigation) is scarce and tradition is long, there is a saying that goes:
Whiskey is for drinkin, water is for fightin.
So, with Dr. Seuss in mind, I thought I’d add my two cents.
I like mine with no ice,
but when the snow flies and the fire is nice,
hot water, honey, lemon and Jack is the evening vice.
When gin is just too thin,
and five card is what ya gotta win,
whiskey just might just buy you in.
Scotch has that nice smokey peat,
and when I come home just beat,
It straight up is a real treat,
So neat!
Bourbon whiskey is American spirit with a zing,
that Canadian stuff is a blended thing,
both complement a meal served a la king.
If on spirits you don’t spend a dime,
hopefully you don’t think me doing so is a crime,
but for me it’s final, no ice in mine!

I'm on welfare,
food stamps too;
that's okay,
I don't work like you!
Enough of the Apocalypse . . . .
Gentlemen, could you PLEASE set the booze down & get back to shootin' guns?

Jimmy Russell , the master distiller at Wild Turkey, suggests that a few drops of water or a cube of ice will open up the bourbon flavor......
Re: Ice or no ice in your Bourbon?
Yes, Suggested to open all single malt whiskies. A few drops of Ice Water for me. I shot today so I can now get back to drinking!

Some folks need to create a Youtube channel or a vlog.
They say of Northern New England:
"People in Vermont ski. People in New Hampshire hunt and fish. People in Maine drink and talk about hunting and fishing."
Where do people who talk about drinking go?

I have a good friend who lives in Northern Finland. They have 6 months of daylight and 6 months of night time conditions. I once asked him what they do there and he said:
When the sun is always out, we Drink, Fish and Made Love and when the sun is always out, we give up fishing.

Re: Ice or no ice in your Bourbon?
Well, I was sitting on the couch today sipping my morning coffee. Mon petit fleur plops down next to me, says, "Happy Birthday", cracks a bottle of Woodford Reserve and gives me a swig. No ice.
Tasty!
Tasty!
