I'm sorry I don't have a better picture of the spring correctly installed, but here's a picture I took of it while broken.
To the right of the heavy silver spring, there's a little plastic post. The #15 spring sits on top of that post. In this picture the spring is broken and you just see a little stub of it. Above the spring is the bent steel 'prop' which keeps a lever from moving too far. The picture shows the prop rotated a few degrees around the screw holding it to the plastic post, and it's up against the steel frame, but the tip of that prop should actually be next to the frame so as to keep the lever from moving too far.

This thing is more complex than a watch in some ways. It's a genius piece of design, but it takes a while to wrap your head around how it works.

Cracking of this spring is the most common failure of the trigger mechanism of the TOZ35. But if you do not understand how this simple mechanism works, then do not disassemble or repair it. I'm sorry. You write"there's a little plastic post".....perhaps it should be a small steel tube?

In my case the 'plastic post' is better described as a plastic spacer which a tiny screw goes through.

I do understand the mechanism now, but the interrelation of the 'middle lever spring', the 'prop' and the 'middle lever' wasn't obvious until I took it apart and examined it for a while.

I was curious of whether a simpler process could be used and tried salt+water electrolysis on a broken tape measure I had.
The level of details is impressive, this is just by scratching the yellow paint with a needle (very imprecise) and with 20 minutes electrolysis @4V.

I got partway through the process before realizing I should take pictures to document it. So here's a few of the nearly-finished part.

I measured the broken pieces of the original and drew out a (very rough) diagram

CADdiagram.jpg

Took a couple of paint stirrers (nearest thin pieces of wood) and clamped them in my vise one against the other.

I clipped the paperclip over both of them, and attempted to drill through it. I then found my tiny drill bits were utter garbage and had the stiffness of a piece of spaghetti. (They actually unwound the spiral flutes, that's how bad the temper was). So I just drove a nail through the paperclip to punch the necessary hole. Clamping the nail between the pieces of wood held it firmly in place while I used the dremel and a cutoff wheel to cut away everything which wasn't in the rough shape of the spring I needed.

I then used files to remove everything else until I got to the shape I needed.

The spring does seem to work! Haven't done a live fire test yet, but it seems to work in dry fire.
Hi Redchrome

Would you be able to advise how this piece fits into the assembly?

Mine fell out during cleaning and i cannot locate its home

I responded to your post above, and posted the best picture I have of the assembly (tho the spring is broken off in that picture).

Do you have the tiny screw which goes through the bent piece of metal, through the spring, through the little plastic post/spacer and then into the trigger frame?

Hi Redchrome,

Thanks for your response, I have fixed the gun now!

It was not the flat spring part #15 that i thought had come out of the gun (it was a spare floating around my case)

after comparing to anther club members Toz, it was simply that the firing pin carrier (falling block?)

was no seated down correctly, preventing the gun from firing

Thanks again
