The Christmas Angel

This is the story of how the tradition of an angel atop a Christmas tree was begun.

Once upon a time Santa had a little angel helper while on his rounds.

They arrived at a house and went down the chimney. Unfortunately, Santa twisted his ankle when he landed and got soot in his eyes. He was backing out of the fireplace and whacked his head on the mantel as he stood up. He staggered back, knocking over his glass of milk into the plate of Christmas cookies laid out for him.

Just then the little angel said, "Santa, Santa, where do you want me to put this tree?"
