U.S. Rifle and Pistol Athletes Off to Strong Start at ISSF Rio de Janeiro World Cup
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (August 29, 2019)
(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – August 29, 2019) - As events get underway in Rio de Janeiro at the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol competition, the U.S. women are already making their mark in the event. Mary Tucker (Sarasota, Fla.) placed first in qualification in 10m air rifle with a 631.1, breaking her own U.S. junior national record of 629.2 set in January. She went on to place eighth in the final, her highest international competition finish to date.

Macey Way (Colorado Springs, Colo.) also achieved a personal best of 626.7 in 10m air rifle MQS extra.

Tim Sherry (Fort Benning, Ga.) finished 5th in the qualification round of the men’s smallbore event with an 1175.

Competition continues today and runs through Tuesday.
