I think posting the age would be interesting information. Also Make and Model info would add to the fun. Becouse here in Germany we don´t have a lack of interest in LP, we have no problems in separating the shooters by age. The youngsters have the eyesight, the older shooters have the experience needed to win matches.

My added Info:
1965

@wrh1: How old are you?

I'm celebrating the 10th anniversary of my 21st birthday this year, so, according to my son, "SOOOOOOO OLD!"

I've never shot in a precision or bullseye discipline before, so much of this has been an extremely foreign experience, like acclimating to a new planet. But I'm sad I went so long without discovering 10m AP, because it has quickly become my favorite. The pressure of in person competition and the challege of improving my scores have become fascinating and extremely addicting.

I have to drive several hours to get to the nearest club and electronic targets, but its worth the work. I'm also fortunate to have an unfinished basement that serves as a practice range and can shoot at the local gun range (where they have an airgun range for the youth 10m air rifle programs that they have happily let me use when unoccupied.)

Then, as a super-insulting handicap system, post your UN-Corrected distance vision, and adjust how far you STAND from the target by that variable.

This was supposed to be 10-meter AP?
Also gender and measurements? We could use the info to graph a correlation to score.

You and add your age if you like, I will note that on the monthly scores.

Yes, this is 10 meter AP.

I know that we may have a few that will shoot 2 handed and use optics. That is fine too, just note that on with your scores.

My local league has just that: Monthly meets to try and get more people interested in bullseye shooting (tending towards the International side, but the main thrust is to get people shooting.) We have 2 classes: Standard (sort of relaxed International rules - any sights being the main thing) and Open (pretty much anything goes: 2 hands, supported, closer targets, whatever else you can come up with.) Separate matches for Air and Rimfire, and pistol and rifle.

In any event, when you're on the line, you're shooting against yourself. Which is why we don't have prizes. Bragging rights, maybe.

I see the club has a Police L match on Saturday, get up early and shoot a AP match with Russ, send me your score. Better be good.

I have only two goals, to improve for myself and to outscore Rover.

have a good weekend all.

Thanks for noticing me! That was a new personal best for me; unfortunately I'm dealing with the after effects of the flu, pneumonia, and a ruptured ear drum, so I may not be getting back into the 550's for a while. My balance is all screwed up now, not to mention my tinnitus is now morning after Nine Inch Nails concert levels all the time!

Had to miss spring selection and another match.

ETA, I used HN Finale 4.49 for mine. In my limited benched testing, the EVO loves it.

Anyone going to tge May PTO at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs?

Demented Old Drunkard category sounds fun! Can I hang out with you guys? Will I be mercilessly ridiculed for not using an SSP?

Damn right you will!!! We all have them + others.

But, as long as you buy beer you'll get along fine.

Yes, we're old farts, but Siordian is a petite flower of virginal manhood.

We'll assemble in the morning for informal practice and to fondle George (he brings coffee).
