I have been shooting air pistol quit a bit since the bug bit me again last october. I initially saw some big improvements going from the 70's (out of 100)to the low 80's.
I am now averaging 89 with an occasional bump into the low 90's. Any suggestions to get me over this hump?
I know my equipment can do it (162ei)...

Re: pushing past a plateau
A lot depends on where the stray shots are going. If they are all over, you may just be limited by your natural wobble. If they tend to be in certain directions, that will suggests likely errors in your technique that you need to work on. For example, 3:00 or 9:00 shots are usually due to grip issues. Especially if you use a 6:00 or sub-6 hold, high shots are often the result of losing focus on the front sight, which will tend to drift up.

1 trend I am seeing is taking too long for shots that are later in a string, where I should have aborted and started over..
Re: pushing past a plateau
I have been doing a LOT of grip fiddling. The gun has become much easier to shoot after I got it to be in tbe exact same place in my hand. I also added a touch of break weigbt seeking a better release and its working well now.....

Break through a plateau? Hell, I'm just trying to keep away from the fearsome "Spiral of Decline"!
I was shooting next to John Zurek last weekend. He told me to count to three before lowering the gun after a shot. Amazing the crap that goes on when you pull the trigger! (Yeah, I mean work on your follow-through.)
