CM84E elevation screw size and pitch
Anyone have any ideas? Morini is pretty slow about answering emails. Figured i would try here before bugging pilkington.
Re: CM84E elevation screw size and pitch
Greetings,
Measure the diameter of the screw for the Major Diameter.
Mount the pistol in a vise and measure how much the screw moves a test indicator in one turn. To verify, try 3 and 4 turns.
Cheers,
Dave

I think you will find it is a very fine proprietary thread (finer than metric fine).
Back then no tap nor die was available.
I made a rear sight extension years ago for my Free pistol and the rear sight elevation screw threads into a little threaded insert in the frame.
The insert is a push fit into the frame, the frame is not threaded.
I got some screws and inserts from Morini at a World Cup.
The insert is not shown on the parts breakdown.

its looking like m4x0.35mm when i measured it. Do you have any of those screws or inserts available?
Re: CM84E elevation screw size and pitch
The exploded diagram for the CM84 sight (which I assume is very similar) also shows a spring and two balls that fit in a cross-drilled hole in the screw head for the detents. It also looks like there is a groove for a snap ring to prevent the leaf from being pushed down far enough for the detent balls to escape. The screw is definitely a very custom part.
