Printable rapid fire targets for drills

Post by Ramon OP »

Hi all,

I have a competition coming up and I don't have much access to the range, so I made this A4 with two rows of rapid fire targets to practice at home: https://twitter.com/olympicpistol/statu ... 2669726722

I've just made it and I'm looking for feedback on how to improve it. It will be tested as soon as I get back home.

The images for the targets have been downloaded from Wikipedia. For the relative sizes I've used Rink's dry fire targets (they are great). I don't use Inkscape much and I'm more of the quick and dirty type, so it is not pretty but I hope it is useful.

I've printed two lines of targets to be able to practice with different heights at the same time, in case it is useful. I don't know if it will be, better to test it at home.

Try this, with a felt pen put 5 dot's on a paper about 1/8" dia (3mm) and 3/8" (10mm) apart.
Put the paper on a wall at foresight height for your normal stance.
Stand to just clear the wall as you lift.
Used to practice lift and traverse, sighting on the black dot and FORESIGHT.
Make sure that you move from the ankles, not the shoulder in the traverse.

Take a friend with you to a shootingrange.
Aim at the targets, while your friend measures the distance from your pistol to the floor.
From the firingpoint, measure the distance between the outer targets.
Take your friend home.
Aim at the wall, your friend tells you when you're right in height.
Put your 5 dots in that aiming area.
Measure the distance between the outer targets.
Move yourself if necessary.
