Re: Ready for the best?
I see you're still living in the past Rover.
Re: Ready for the best?
You're just saying that to make the PCP Kool-Ade slurpers feel better.
Re: Ready for the best?
Are you having difficulty with the alphabet this morning? No way PCP stands for Cars With Starter Motors.Rover wrote:You're just saying that to make the PCP Kool-Ade slurpers feel better.
Re: Ready for the best?
I have all three 65,80 and 90. Also a FWB102. I like these crank pistols. Their quality, accuracy and workmanship is above reproach. Do I shoot them in matches. NO. They are great for training. But 60 times in a match is a bit too much. My fav is the 90. The 102 is a close second.
Re: Ready for the best?
I guess these went away along with the SSP's during the Liberal Pussification of men.

Thanks william.
Re: Ready for the best?
William, I know you didn't want to make dc.fireman feel bad because he has a garage full of starterless cars he's not man enough to crank over.
PFribley, too.

Re: Ready for the best?
It is the BEST made recoilless, virtually maintenance free, and bombproof spring piston air pistol in the world. However, don’t bring a knife to a gun fight...
Re: Ready for the best?
You guys are dreaming if you think you can't be easily beaten by one of these. Let the whimpering begin.

Re: Ready for the best?
The only way you’ll win with one is you’re an experienced shooter (or pure luck) with the 65 and all the others with pcp’s are novices/newbies. Ah, the World and Olympic records set with a FWB 65/80/90 is in 580’s?, and the pcp’s are in the 590’s... I don’t see the “best” dethroning the pcp’s anytime soon.Rover wrote:You guys are dreaming if you think you can't be easily beaten by one of these.
However, I would feel a great amount of joy if I were able to win with an older model match air pistol. The look of awe and jaw-dropping of your competitors is priceless!
Re: Ready for the best?
I used to enjoy using my $200 clunker to beat many try-hards with their $3000 PPC revolvers, but it didn't win me many actual medals, a top shot does need a top gun.
(Shooting IPSC with an as-issued Hi Power is also a lot of fun, as is letting people try the trigger afterwards - no the safety is not on, keep squeezing)

You'll never do it if you don't try. Read down through the threads on this post see if you can tell who'll NEVER do it.

Re: Ready for the best?
You know, if Don Nygord himself stepped out of the mists of time and shot next to me on the firing line with an older pistol, I wouldn't be dropping my jaw, I'd be watching. I'd be evaluating his technique and figuring out how to incorporate it with mine. And, hopefully, I'd get some time to talk with him.kevinweiho wrote:However, I would feel a great amount of joy if I were able to win with an older model match air pistol. I was using the figure of speech of “jaw-dropping” as a hyperbole.Chia wrote:You know, if Don Nygord himself stepped out of the mists of time and shot next to me on the firing line with an older pistol, I wouldn't be dropping my jaw, I'd be watching. The late Don Nygord once said that: “World level shooting is about consistency and that world level shooters are the most dyed-in-the-wool pragmatists you'll ever find:
If it works better, that’s what they'll shoot. Doesn't matter what it is or how it smells or what color - if they can get better scores they'll shoot it!”

We have a winner! Those suppository guns are just a fad anyway.David M wrote:Rover, do I have a pistol for you.....Its even pre pump.

I would love one of those FWBs, best gun ever.
