Scatt calibration question

Post by ricardopresto »

Hi

Scatt WS1 calibration shot, the system behaves as if the target centre is toward the upper left corner of the target frame. Obviously I could print a target with the black in this position, but am I missing something obvious? Can any Scatt experts shed any light on this?

Thanks for any advice.

I've had a few calibration issues, though not this specific one. Since SCATT uses infrared beams, it has, in my experience, been affected by heat and cold sources. You might want to make sure that there isn't anything blowing in between you and the unit.

Beyond that, I'm not sure. Someone more experienced than me can help.

I set up my Scatt using a vice to hold the pistol and then shimmed the sensor using aluminium tape so that it was giving me a calibration result that was in the inner circle.
I first set up the gun so that it was aimed at the target and then adjusted the sensor. As long as when you take the calibration shot that it remains within limits you will be ok. Then you can drag the shot around in the sighting shots so that you fine tune it.
