I guess because Daryl already got a Quota Slot in Air Pistol ... so the US will not have a Free Pistol Quota Slot for the Athens Olympics. The two shooters who will represent the US in air pistol at Athens will also be able to shoot free pistol in Athens ... but no one can qualify for Free Pistol alone for Athens. Almost not worth having Free Pistol at the upcoming Fall and Spring selection matches ... except for the always welcomed general practice ....

It was my understanding that any score that was high enough earned a quota slot. Although the ways of the ISSF sometimes defy description....
Oh, well, the U.S. International Muzzle-Loading Team is recruiting - and the MLAIC has a much more sensible system.
