Opinion of buying Match Guns pistols for use in US.

Post by zanemoseley »

I'm looking to upgrade this Fall. I haven't decided if I'm going with an IZH or going up to a PCP. I've seen Morini's new company Match Guns has some good pricing from Krale in the Netherlands. I've read a bit about them but until now there has been no US support for the pistols which was a huge negative. Stefano at Match Guns directed me to a guy named Udo at Heritage Arms in Naples FL, they are going to become the US distribution and service for Match Guns. Their gunsmith is going over to Italy soon to train on the pistols, he said by early 2017 their service should be up and running.

So would you guys feel at ease buying one of their pistols assuming Heritage Arms will do a good job on servicing them? Or would you spend another $450 and jump up to a Steyr?

The MGH1 Hybrid I purchased in March 2015 has been working with no problems. Exciting about Heritage considering turn around time direct to MG in IT seems to be ridiculously long. I called Heritage just now and was told they sell mostly MG firearms but didn't seem to knowledgeable about AP or about becoming a dealer/support but the gunsmith wasn't in to comment. Heritage sells on gunbroker as 'exclusive firearms'.

With the MGH1 I got both the M and L grips. The M was supposed to be my size but I seem to like the L better. I think I have a narrow but longer hand.

I've never shot a Steyr so have no comparison to make.

Targets are also a good deal at Krale.

Morini or Steyr are both good. Pardini USA seem about the best for aftersales support in the USA.

I have an outhouse in perfect working order. When can you come to claim it? No extra charge for the spiders.

Let me know when you have my pistol.

I know the ISS guy in Texas used to have them. Now he won't touch them. There was one on here some time ago. Talked to the owner. Said I would purchase it from him at his agreed price. Didn't get any further than the FFL process. He got angry about all the FFL paper work and backed out. Probably sold it locally. He was in Texas.

I did ended up repairing th eMG2ERF all by myself, although Stefan's parts finally came in AFTer 3 months. Something as minute as a spring. If you own a MG I highly suggest you to know every single MG owners around the globe, because you may have to make your own part and they will be the one measuring the parts for you if they have the same model.
