Used Pardini K12 from Canada; adjusting velocity >500fps?

Post by sparky »

Suppose I were to buy a used Pardini K12 from someone in Canada (I'm in the U.S.)

How would I go about adjusting the velocity so it was capable of shooting above 500fps? Is the MP screw loctited at a certain point, or would it require a stronger spring under the MP screw, or something else?

Believe me, I'm not the last word on the subject. My understanding is in order for an AP to be Canada-legal under 500fps it can't be adjusted to higher velocity short of a return trip to the factory. The law specifies ability to exceed 500fps, not whether it does so on a particular day and tweak.

With knowledge and tools there's a way. After all, that's all it takes to make one. Heck, with the right readily available parts and by drilling one hole, one can easily make most AR-15s that were manufactured to be semi-auto only capable of full auto.

Does anyone have any actual knowledge on this?

Can't comment on Canada specific K12s, but others can be adjusted easily by the large screw in the back below the rearsight (shown in the manual as screw "MP").

I'm Canadian, bought my K 12 2 years ago from the Canadian Pardini dealer. It chronographs at 520 fps which is factory spec. It can easily be adjusted higher or lower. It appears to be entirely unmodified from any other Pardini K 12.

I don't think anyone in the RCMP is running around testing AP pellet velocities in Olympic air pistols.

There is the expected hammer spring adjustment at the back of the receiver. BUT before attempting to turn it, loosen the set screw on the right side of the receiver block that fixes the hammer spring adjustment. Irrc this set screw was not identified in the version of the owners manual I have.
