Is it possible to tune the Steyr LP10 to higher velocities?

The LP10 dog may not hunt for 10fpe... Double the stock power would probably need increased plenum space as well as reg output increase and hammer spring. The stock barrel length won't be very efficient.

What about something like the Crosman 1720T... Lothar barrel. Trigger is a downgrade for sure but can be improved. Some have even attached the Marauder trigger group to it. I have one shooting 10.5fpe for 30 good shots (unregulated) and it is quite accurate.

Just a thought which may be completely wrong.

I imagine that above a certain pressure the porting between the regulator and the chamber would be the limiting factor in that it may not be possible to deliver a sufficient volume of air to maintain the required pressure behind the pellet.

Compare it to gasflowing a car engine (i.e enlarging and polishing the inlet and exhaust ports).

That's the plenum volume of which Wasatch spoke. The design of the pistol may not allow for increasing that volume.

EDIT: Sorry, Brian, was on my phone as I was leaving my kid's science fair... Of course porting isn't plenum volume, silly me. And indeed, porting could also be a limiting factor. You'd want the minimum port anywhere along the path to be at least 3/4 of the barrel diameter to get the kind of power wanted for FT with such a short barrel. So any restrictions smaller than about 3.375mm would have to be opened up.
