50m pistol Olympic quota for U.S.

Post by PaulB »

If I am "doing the math" correctly James Henderson just won a U.S. quota slot for Rio in 50m pistol by finishing 4th at Ft. Benning, where two quota slots are awarded and the 2nd and 3rd place finishers already have slots so the slots awarded are passed down.

That would be great news.

It makes me think of a headline like, "48 year old US Shooter wins Quota Slot."

They announced his Quota spot win at the finals today after calling the medal places. Good to see him there, where he had a good start.

More good news. I'm hoping that Emmons and Sanderson or Milev can win some medals.

Milev seems to have been on form in the past half year - looking forward to watching the Rapid final.

The ISSF keeps getting better at releasing videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Vmad2G ... e=youtu.be

Interesting to see Gontcharov using a Russian style grip on his Morini, and Henderson's hotrodded TOZ.

The new Finals Hall at Ft Benning was a nice improvement over what was available in the past. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0k-AkjYclSI Very good for a US facility.

Looks like McPhail just won prone, too. Very nice.

Is it a TOZ and not a Hammerli?

The trigger guard and barrel look like a TOZ-35M, and the barrel weight and front sight looks like what Gartland Precision used.
