Morini 162 Barrel

Hi
I am trying to remove the barrel on my Morini 162. I have undone the 2 screws on the top, but the barrel is stuck fast. Any tips on how to remove it ?

Out of curiosity why are you removing it?

You could try twisting it out if it is a bit stuck. Add CorrosionX Aviation or your favourite penetrating oil for effect.

If it was really stuck I would tape the shit out of it and use vicegrips (extremely carefully), but I also grew up on a farm so there is that.

I am replacing a standard length with a short barrel.
Have sent Morini an email.
(I wondered if there was another screw holding it,because the last time I took out a barrel on an older pistol it came out easily.)

you're out of luck, there is too much locking glue on the both screws from the producer
solution: acetone solvent or warm to 140 - 160°C

I have removed both screws on top of the frame without problem, but the barrel is stuck fast.

Are you are saying the locking glue has stuck the barrel in the frame ?

Yes, bolts are usually locked some kind of "locktite" from manufacturer.
Sometimes it happens that locking glue gets even between the barrel and the frame.
This connection is very strong. I do not advise to use any brute mechanical force.
The better solution is to give barrels for changing from producer or an experienced gunsmith

I will try putting some acetone down the 2 holes, and if that does not work I'll give up on it.

Thanks Rover, that did it.
I could see blue Loctite at the bottom of the screw hole against the barrel. It took a lot of heating from a soldering iron to melt it.
