Hello all,
Here's a link to an interesting article on getting the most long lasting benefit out of practice time. It is geared primarily to (classical) musicians but reading it made me wonder how its suggestions might be applied to 10 m AP. The main difference being of course that musicians are faced with endless new phrases to perfect, measure after measure, piece after piece, and with AP we're trying to perfect the same relatively small number (compared to a sonata) of actions. I'm hoping someone can read this and enlighten us with any tips that could be applied to our training/practice.
Here's the article:

Re: Article on "practicing"
I don't know about air, since there is no variation, in Rapid I mix up the 8,6,4 second series.
Its easy to do 20 4 second series and go away thinking I've nailed it. Rolling up to a range cold I find I'm not after the first 4 second series.
For air I'd mix up
- Dry firing
- Live firing
- Distraction training
- First shot training
etc
