Champions Choice pistol shoes

Post by toddinjax »

I wanted to buy a pair of shoes for shooting and decided to try CC pistol shoes. Half my reason for springing for special footwear is that I'm "rough on shoes" per my wife, and I wanted something to leave in my garage "range" as what I wear outside doesn't last long unless it is a good dress shoe. I paid $75; often suggested substitutes for shooting shoes are more costly ($100-$175 weight lifting) and skate shoes are almost as expensive and don't last long, making them very expensive. The soles are dead flat and quite stiff, much more so that any skate shoe I've seen and they are not thickly cushioned inside. They definitely make you feel that you are firmly "planted" to the floor, connected - it is a positive feeling. The quality of materials looks good as does the workmanship of stitching. I can't compare them to the pricier $200+ pistol shoes but I do have several pair of $350 dress shoes and I can say, the CC shoes do not come off as "cheap" looking at all. I would guess them to cost more than $75, especially for such a specialist product. The laces supplied are insanely long and will have to be replaced. I'm sure you might not "need" specific pistol shoes but if you're going to spend $50 to $150 for something to use as a shooting shoe, IMHO, why not get something designed and made specifically for shooting?
