Help with identifying and valuing.

Post by vitoon.strider »

I recently inherited a collection of weapons,among them are several competitions and free pistols:hammerli 210 208 208S 232and 160(mechanical),smith and wesson 41, Morini free pistol and MC55-1 free pistol.I'm not familiar and hoping I could learn more.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not going to touch this one, except to say that it's a beautiful and valuable collection.

While Rover tends to represent my better characteristics very well, I 'd like to stand up for the two hundred or so other viewers in saying "Wow".

The P210-6 s/n P 312553 is a standard 5" frame from about 1990 but it is fitted with a P210-5 6" barrel.
Value will depend on where in the world you are ?

Just curious,this modification supposed to boost the value up or on the contrary?

Great collection, sweet gear - take care of them!

I especially like the old Hammerli 232.

The FWB P30 is in my opinion one of their finest. I think there is a FWB Model 2 in your stash also. The Model 2 is important as it represented the break away from the archaic spring guns to a precision instrument.

If you're in the United States they pay a stupidly high price for Hammerli and SIG gear. Probably 2x anywhere else in the world. I am not qualified to value these, but at a guess I would say around thousand each for each Hammerli .22.

I trust you're faintly familiar with firearms care, if not I would suggest lightly oiling every one periodically to prevent rust - I like CorrosionX Aviation because planes.

Value will depend on market, j-team might chime in here shortly with a more qualified answer.

At a guess probably down slightly from the stock product.

Value

Post by PFribley »

Do some research on the various gun auction sites. On most of these sites the price the gun sells for could be considered market value. Or the price someone is willing to pay for your merchandise. You have some very nice target pistols. Maybe you should take up the sport. Going to matches is a good place to vend merchandise.

My estimates for Gunbroker.com:
  • Hämmerli 208: $1,200;
  • Hämmerli 208S: $1,800;
  • SIG P210-6, CNC frame: $2,600.
The last gun, with a -5 barrel, is either a number mismatch or a factory nomenclature error. Deduct $400 or add $600 accordingly.

Well, I picked up a 208S for our club recently for € 249... so it obviously depends on where you are :-)

It goes both ways. I'm helping a Swiss collector buy Smith & Wesson revolvers for a fraction of the price they fetch in his home market.

The interesting question is what barrel is actually fitted, it could be a factory 6" lead barrel. Does the barrel have any markings or numbers ?
