Taking out 2nd stage screw on IZH 46M

My 46M 2nd stage creep is very gritty.

Could I just take the second stage screw? What would happen if I take out second stage screw?

I'm not 100% sure about what you mean but if it's what I think it is... you may have to take some tweezers and fine sandpaper through the frame holes (or use that pin tool and get the trigger assy. out). On my 1st 46m, I had to polish a few elements of the trigger so it wouldn't be gritty - it was bought new.

I set mine as single stage.

I back the B screw out far enough that it doesn't come in to play. You don't need to remove it.

Then I use F to set sear engagement and how far I want to pull before the trigger goes off.

Then I set A until the trigger won't go off. And begin backing it off until it trips the trigger. Then add a quarter turn.

After that I adjust the weight to what I want.

If you remove the handle, you see two holes. One shows where the B touches the sear. The other shows how much sear engagement you have.

Can't back off on 2nd stage travel screw too much. Unscrew it too much, the trigger would not play. So it means I can't take 2nd stage screw off, otherwise trigger would not engage.

Sounds to me like the A screw is preventing you from getting the trigger back far enough.

Back the A screw out more. You should not need the B screw.

Eureka!

Finally properly adjusted 2nd stage pin. For past 6 years, I had been shooting 46M with that too screwed in 2nd stage travel pin with no first stage at all. What I thought as 1st stage was all second stage, a very poorly set up monster 2nd stage.

I kept thinking what a horrible trigger. I could never shoot that 46M as well as my LP10. People had been extolling what a sweet IZH 46M trigger is; I kept thinking those guys are nuts.

Now finally adjusted the trigger properly, with direct visual understanding through those two "windows" on hammer/sear, 2nd stage pin, set up proper first stage, second stage, after travel, weight. I can now see why people are saying what a sweet trigger it is.

Now I know. IZH 46M trigger when properly set up IS as excellent as that of LP10. I am a happy dude today.
