Anyone try using the 46m with out the barrel band?
I took it off and the barrel seems pretty solid without it. I didn't notice any accuracy problems. Maybe it improved. I'm not accurate enough to know. Other high end gun don't seem to have barrel bands.
I did notice a vibration after the shot like a tuning fork.
Any considerations with leaving the band off?

You're fine with the barrel band off. A lot of modifications are possible with the 46m in aid of reducing weight, some easy like removing unnecessary parts - the barrel band, the self-cocking slider - and some more challenging. At that point I was still new enough to AP that adding weight back at the muzzle as shown there seemed to be helping in steadying the shot. I went on to reduce weight considerably further, as detailed in this thread on CAF:
