Plastic Air Pistol Cases?

I just picked up a couple of old CO2 Steyr LP1's for the MIT collegiate team. These pre-date the nice plastic cases the newer air pistols come in. We store some of our pistols in open racks, but having a case means the students can keep tools, fill adapters, spare cylinders, etc. with the pistols.

I looked on-line, and I can't find any place that sells the type of plastic case that Steyr, Pardini & Morini use. Most of the cases that are long enough are way oversized in other dimensions, although we could probably keep the pair in a larger case. I could presumably order replacement cases from Steyr, but I'm betting that would be prohibitively expensive.

I checked the cases I have, and there is no sign of a manufacturers name on them. The sliding latches are very similar to the ones used on rifle cases by Doskocil, but the construction is a bit different.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive source for this type of case, preferably in the US?

The measurements match up fairly closely with my Pardini SP case, IF they are the internal dimensions.

I'll contact them & see if there is an economical way to order a couple.

Make certain whatever case you buy is TSA certified for air-travel. My Benelli Kite case is but there is no indication who made it. Negrini is a good bet as another poster noted.

Not lockable and not airline approved meaning, likely, not TSA approved.

No real need to cut. Just remove the bottom foam with the scoring, turn it over and place in in the upper lid hiding the scoring. Move the upper lid to the lower as is.

I don't need TSA approved case. I wouldn't place any obvious (labelled) gun case in checked luggage in any event (TSA approved or not).

Coach White, how come you do not just go ahead and order the Steyr cases? Is the dollar amount different that big?

If cost really an issue, then you just buy the cheapest case available. I usually find soft case (bag) work well.

I had already sent an email off to Negrini about shipping costs, and it turns out they have a US dealer that might be able to save us some on shipping. Unfortunately, they don't stock that model of case.

Now that I know where I can get the real Steyr cases, we'll probably go that route unless it turns out the shipping is outrageous, or the US Negrini dealer can get us a deal.

You know... If you share the name of the distributor, maybe others might contact them and request the Steyr cases, too. Maybe enough to justify shipping some over. Just thinking out loud.

The steyr case is relatively easy to find, either here in the US (the usual suspects) or in Europe (the usual suspects).

If they are so easy to find in the US, how about naming ONE dealer who has them in stock? Pilkington doesn't list them as a standard accessory, and they are probably the biggest Steyr dealer in the US.

Steyr only lists two US dealers; Pilkington and Precision Airguns, and they don't sell the pistols. Yes, I could email a bunch of places, but at best, I suspect they would have to special order them. Most dealers only place orders a few times a year, so there could be a long wait.

Coach White, I bought cases and lots of stuff from Buinger, Andreas is very quick when it comes to shipping because they have a department JUST for shipping to US customer.

I can try, but Neal is notoriously bad about dealing with emails, and my days are often crazed enough that calling him can be difficult. I was surprised that Steyr doesn't list him as a dealer.
