air pistol for target shooting

Post by juvaliya »

Recommended air pistol for target shooting? I'm a 19 year old student in the States and I've been wanting to get into target practice. I'm already decent with a bow -- but now I wanted to branch out into guns. Since I can't afford an 'actual' gun, and have no need for one, I want to get into air guns. Pistols, specifically.

I only have two and I do not compete.

By a general consensus I think you'll find an IZH 46M is a good low cost air pistol that can carry you a long ways before you outgrow it.

If you want something a little more conventional looking, the Beeman P1 is also inexpensive, especially used, but very accurate. It's made by Weihrauch and can also be found as the Weihrauch HW 75.

Good luck with your search.

I'd give the Beeman P17 a try. Its accurate and has a good trigger. At $40 you don't lose much if you decided its not for you or really like it and upgrade later. Cheap is relative. I shoot with the 46m and think over $100 for an air pistol is expensive.
