Morini CM162EI problem

Post by pbrejsa »

Dear folks
I need any advice. The charging handle - level (No 162037) of my Morini CM162EI already started to be blocked at a pressure of about 110 bar. Previously, it was at a pressure of about 70-80 bars. What could be the problem? Did any of you have a similar problem? So far I've solved it removing parts No 162039T, 162040 and 162045. And now it seems to be OK. Your suggestions?
Thanks
Petr

All you have done is remove the lockout, you need to find out why it changed.
Check if the tank pressure is correct and if it is not a faulty pressure indication.
Re-fit the lockout parts, fill the tank to 200 bar and see how many shots you get before the lockout comes "on". Also check the velocity at the same time.
If velocity is OK and the number of shots are reduced, the internal pressure regulator may need re-setting and servicing.
If the number of shots are normal and the velocity is normal, then the pressure gauge is faulty.

Morini say it locks off at 100, but my 162 locks off around the 110,
but some times it shows 100, Apart from possible low pressure , i think the cylinder gauges are not consistant with the readings they show , or maybe you have a bit of dirt in the mechanics, give it a blow out with some air. Failing all else contact Morini they get back to you within a couple of days excellent customer service,
cheers . S

David and Scausi, thank you for your advice. I have a total of 4 tanks, 2 long and 2 short. The pressure measuring in the all tanks is correct. Before the spontaneous changing of the locking after filling of the long tank at 200 bar I was able to shoot about 180-190 shots. After changing of the lock pressure level can only shoot about 110-120 shots. The velocity is OK. The Combro measured 152-154 m / s up to the pressure of about 70 bar. The velocity starts to decrease starts to decrease at lower pressure than 60-70 bar. I fear failure of the internal pressure regulator too. David, by your opinion is it possible to operate the gun without the locking parts?
Thanks for your answer.

OK, sounds like your cylinder valve needs re-setting.
This is a job for someone who knows what to do.
The position of the pressure valve is set by altering the position of the lock collar (162205) on the wire (162212).
This sets the exposed position of the reducing valve.
Adjustments to the position of the lockout are then done by altering the length of the lockout bar (162045).
Send it to a Morini servie agent.

David, I will follow your recommendations. I have the same meaning.
For your information my CM162EI is 4 years old, around 50 000 shots.
Many thanks. Petr
