File error in ISSF Rules PDF file?
I've been trying to download the ISSF english rule book file from their website at http://www.issf-sports.org/theissf/rule ... ebook.ashx but after I extract the file and try to open the PDF I get an error message that states "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired." Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know another source for the ISSF rules?
Thanks,
Ted

Your link is to the 'reader' version (a pain) - download the PDF from http://www.issf-sports.org/documents/ru ... en-3rd.zip
Sorry- I should have been clearer- I was using the link at the bottom of the page I listed, where it says "Download rulebook as zip file." I think that goes to the same link you listed. I tried it again, using the link you posted, but still get the same error. I'm wondering if it's a problem with their file or my computer.Spencer wrote:Your link is to the 'reader' version (a pain) - download the PDF from http://www.issf-sports.org/documents/ru ... en-3rd.zip

You may want to check that you have one of the latest version of Adobe Reader. I think that the latest version is 10.1. Go here if you have an older version:

Ah ha! That's it - I reformatted my computer last weekend and overlooked the fact that I was only running 5.1. Downloaded 10.1 and it solved the problem. Thanks for everyone's help. Now for some exciting reading....TraLfaz wrote:You may want to check that you have one of the latest version of Adobe Reader. I think that the latest version is 10.1. And that ridiculously outsized Adobe download created other problems that I hope never jump up to bite you. I realize that lots of people have little problem with Adobe in this role, but if you'd like something just to look at PDF, Postscript, djvu, tiff, dvi, XPS, and a few other types of files, you might want to try Evince. It's smaller, faster, and doesn't slow down your machine as much.tedbell wrote:Ah ha! That's it - I reformatted my computer last weekend and overlooked the fact that I was only running 5.1.
