Virginia Military Institute (VMI), an NCAA Division I and Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) member, is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Corps Marksmanship and Range Operations. The Director will serve as the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Rifle Team Coach and will act as the primary Range Control Officer for two rifle ranges and an obstacle course. Duties will include developing and maintaining facility policies, procedures, and standards for both of VMI’s Rifle Ranges and manage, coordinate, and maintain the obstacle course system. Other duties include scheduling facilities, advising the ROTC and New Cadet marksmanship programs. The Rifle Team Coach’s duties include organizing practices, scheduling competitions, purchasing equipment, coordinating team travel, overseeing team budget, and recruiting potential Cadet-Athletes.

Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree or significant related experience.
Preferred:

•NRA Certified Rifle Instructor.
• Competitive marksmanship experience (as a competitor or coach) to include shooting club experience, Army Marksmanship Unit background or National Match / President’s Hundred experience.
•Prior military experience.
•Knowledge and understanding of applicable NCAA Division I competitive rules and regulations.
•High powered rifle experience.
•Experience working with /coaching young people/soldiers
•Experience in an academic environment.
This is a full time administrative professional position with an excellent benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications
