Canine Ear Muffs
Dear gun lovers
My name is Casey, I am in a Senior Level Entrepreneurship class at the University of Idaho. We are researching the effects on Canine Hearing loss due to excessive loud noises over a lifetime.
How do you prevent such a thing?
Canine earmuffs.
I am wondering if you guys take your dogs shooting with you? (At lease in the vicinity of them hearing your shots.)
If so have you thought of the effects on your dogs hearing?
PS I do know there are existing products, but due to capitalism we want to make another product, both inexpensive and quality made in the USA!
Thanks in advance!

kcwhay,
You might be on the wrong shooters forum for your question. Most of the folks here shoot on a range with well designated targets and very little use for field dogs. In many cases pets of any kind are discouraged if not openly prohibited on the range.
You might get a better sample set if you looked around for a bird hunting forum where folks are more likely to have field or retriever dogs with them.
Just a thought.

I just had to post these cute pics of one of our club members with his 'assistance' dog.

Yes.You may want to try some of the bird hunting websites. This is actually a real problem with many bird dogs.
