Anschutz Rear Sight Repair

Post by Tanktrek »

Hi

Does anyone know of a repair facility here in the USA that does cleaning and repair or tune-ups of Anschutz sights?

Hiya
My 6702 sight has the plastic graduation plate snapped.I might try and make a replacement. However the sight had a lot of slop, you could hold the glare tube and wiggle the sight from side to side.Fortunately on the elevation slide there are two backlash screws that I tightened up.No more slop.

If you are talking about the OLD early 70s vintage sight with the little clear pastic scale with the red markings one of the best things to do there is remove it and leave it off. (Really, have you ever used that scale?)

It seems the pointers would catch and drag on the scale plate and cause inconsistencies from click to click.

As you mention, snugging the screws on the beveled ways helps too. Not too tight though, the sight still has to move.

Cheers,
