Squad Designated Marksman Class at the Kansas National Guard Training Center - Another Squad Designated Marksman class is underway. This time at the Kansas National Guard Training Center in Salina, Kansas. My fellow Civilian Marksmanship Program volunteer trainers, Jeff Marienthal, Terry Park, Steve Rocketto and I, met with the United States Army Marksmanship Unit instructors, Sergeants Grant and Peters, last night to go over the details of how this SDM class would be conducted. With the exception of Terry, this is the first time that I've worked with any of these individuals. That's not at all uncommon. The USAMU and the CMP both have a number of people available to conduct these classes.

After finishing the M1 Garand Match in the morning I boarded the Shooter Shuttle for the ride from Viale Range to Rodriguez. When I arrived, I unloaded my gear, picked up my squadding, had my rifle inspected and collected up my medal and shirt. Next I headed back to the parking lot to exchange my M1 for the 1903 Springfield. Read the complete article at http://
