How to Hammerli 208 - replace front/rear sights

Post by orionshooter »

I would like to replace both the rear sight blade and front sight post on my 208 and my 215 which appear to have identical parts.

The front sight looks like it is simply dove tailed in with no pins so . . . . I shoule be able to just gently tap it out right?.

I cant figure out though how the rear sight blade comes off so I thought I would ask.

Thanks gang

A quick look at the exploded diagram in the TenP files looks like the front is held on with something resembling a set screw. Check out the diagrams.

Thanks fellas. The front sight is held in place with a ball detent and comes off fairly easily with some soft tapping using a wooden dowel. The rear sight blade is held in place with a small pin which, when removed screws right out.

Thanks for the suggestions.
