does the heat effect the lead pellets when they are in route to the shipper home address and will they need to be keep stowed in a cool place

It would take a great deal of heat to affect lead pellets and under normal shipping conditions there would be nothing to worry about for the lead pellets. The 22LR ammo can be affected by the heat if it uses a wax lube for the bullet, but there again the bullets would have to be setting in the blazing hot summer outdoor sun to get that kind of heat.

I did at one time have some Aquila SE ammo get affected by the heat. Apparently the lubicant on the bullet had melted from sitting while in the freight trucks going to the Hunting Shack in Montana. When we got the ammo the lub was all over the case and the coating when fired coated the chambers within about 10 rounds to the point where a round wouldn't seat in the chambers. I tried pulling the slide back again to ram the cartridge in more and eventually the casing couldn't be pulled out and a rod had to be used to push the empty casing out. I thought it was just me that was having this problem, but there was two others that had bought ammo from the same lot that had the same problems with different pistols. I did try the ammo in an Anschutz Rifle and the extractor would fail to extract the casing after a few rounds and again a rod had to be used to push the empty casing out of the chamber.

I complained to Aquila about the problem and the heat was their explanation of which since then I tried the ammo again five years later from a different distributor and have had the same problem. In my opinion the ammo is just not suited for use in target guns especially with tight chambers.
