National Match Air Rifle Update - CMP efforts to develop the new National Match Air Rifle (NMAR) shooting discipline continue to advance. The CMP has just revised the NMAR Monthly Match program that it offers at Camp Perry. The CMP introduced a new 30-shot NMAR Sporter-Garand Course that was designed especially for new and recreation-oriented shooters and was first fired during the April Camp Perry Monthly.
A special NMAR webpage is now posted on the CMP website to give anyone interested in the new discipline a ready source of updated information. A revised edition of the CMP Guide to National Match Air Rifle with the latest rule changes was recently released and can be downloaded from the CMP website; printed copies can also be requested from the CMP. New NMAR Achievement Pins are now available to match sponsors. The National Matches Air Gun Events Program featuring a month of daily NMAR opportunities during the National Matches has also just been released.

2010 CMP Summer Rifle Camps Still Accepting Applications! It is not too late to be part of the 2010 CMP Summer Rifle Camp experience! Applications will be accepted for all camps until the camp start date, or the camp fills. Additional slots have been opened of popular dates, so almost all camps have space available. Apply soon before your preferred dates fill! Spots are still open for the three-position air rifle camps in Anniston, Alabama for the following dates: 31 May-4 June, 28 June-2 July, 26-30 July, and for the three-position air rifle camp in Camp Perry, Ohio: 7-11 June. There are also a few spots remaining for the CMP-AMU Advanced Smallbore Camp 21-25 June. CMP also has space remaining in the Western Outreach Clinics in Linn, Missouri and Phoenix, Arizona on 15-17 July. The clinics are exciting new addition to the summer program and will be an intensive 3-day three-position air rifle training program. Eastern Creedmoor Cup Matches. The 2010 Eastern Creedmoor Cup Matches begin today with a free Highpower Rifle Clinic and continue tomorrow with a Practice Match. Live results will be posted on the CMP web site on Friday - Sunday for the Creedmoor 4-Man Team Match, Creedmoor Cup 800 Aggregate and the Creedmoor Excellence-In-Competition Match. CMP State Director News. CMP is pleased to announce two new State Junior Directors: David Boldt (Louisiana) and Tom Monto (Michigan). The mission of the State Junior Directors is to provide leadership, resource and program information, coordination, networking, motivation and publicity for junior shooting within his or her state. The CMP currently has openings for State Junior Directors in the following states: Arkansas, Arizona, California, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Maine and North Dakota. 2010 GSM Master Instructor Workshops Announced. Experienced rifle marksmanship instructors and shooters who would like to receive advanced training and be certified as “Master Instructors” to teach CMP-sanctioned Garand, Springfield and Vintage Military Rifle or Rimfire Sporter Clinics are invited to apply to attend a CMP Master Instructor Training Workshop. The GSM Master Instructor Workshops are:

15 October - Phoenix, AZ (Prior to the start of the Western Games)
