Daisy Avanti scope questions

Post by k9jri »

I have been trying to mount a Leupold 3-9X33 EFR Rimfire scope on my Daisy Avanti 753 using both a set of Anschutz 11mm tip offs and then a BKL 254 cantilever mount.

The scope, on either set of mounts, works perfectly on my 1416D HB Anschutz. Plenty of elevation range at both 50 and 100 yards.

On my 753 with the scope at mechanical zero the POI is 2.5 inches low at 10 yards and with the elevation at maximum it is still 1 inch low.

If any of you have mounted a scope on one of your Avanti 10M rifles I would appreciate hearing from you regarding elevation problems or lack of problems.

While I realize this is called "barrel droop" the barrel and manifold are a single piece and the receiver is an aluminum casting that bolts on top of the manifild. Suspecting a receiver issue Daisy sent me a new receiver but that did not correct the problem.

Another data point is that the rear diopter sight is half way between center and the top of range to be "zero" at 10 yards> It came out of the box adjusted that way and little adjustment was required to tune it right in on a 10 yard target.

Oh yes... the windage adjustments on both the scope and the diopter sights are very close to their mechanical zero points when "on target" windage wise.

I have an adjustable mount on my FWB300 to use a scope at 10m. That was the only way to get the scope able to sight in at 10m
