Type of sight

Post by ZD »

I can tell you that the rear sight is a Hammerli rear sight. The next question you should ask is whether or not it is for an Air Rifle or a Smallbore Rifle. I would go to http://www.edinkillie.co.uk/ecatalog/index.php to compare the two different Hammerli sights. I do not believe there are any websites here in the U.S. with Hammerli sights. Based on what I have read at this website, the smallbore version of this sight is valuable and high quality. I believe the picture of that rear sight is for a smallbore rifle. Also, the eye piece fitted to that rear sight looks like a basic one with a rubber eye cap (no adjustable iris.) As for the front sight, I have no idea.

Sight Info

Post by pfiori »

As stated above, the rear sight is a Hammerli. The front sight looks like an Elite, also Swiss made and high quality. The brand name was painted on in white and came off easily. They are cant adjustable and came with a wrench that fit the front ring which you loosen to rotate the tunnel.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
It seems that it is a Hammerli 460 rear sight. It has two knobs, 1 for windage and 1 for elevation and looks exactly as the product pictured. That is also a lot of money for a open sight system.
I will search for info on the front tunnel.

Kind Regards.
