Relieving pressure in cylinder for transportation

Post by joecon »

Hi. I'm preparing for my first air travel with my LP-10 (Cork, Ireland to Heathrow, England). Per previous discussion here I plan to bring just one cylinder which will be attached to gun. I want to ship with zero pressure in cylinder, what is best way to drain the residual 70 bar of pressure, without causing damage or undue wear? I charge from a SCBA tank using the Steyr DIN adaptor, & don’t have any external valve or regulator. If I disconnect the DIN adaptor from tank & screw it in slowly into the cylinder will it get to a point where air will bleed at a low enough rate? Joe.

Yes, but don't trust so much in the slow rate.
