Southern Indiana Rifle and Pistol Club
2009- 10 Indoor Air Pistol, Air Rifle, and Free Pistol Matches

Dates: Saturday, October 24, November 28, December 26, January 23, and March 27

Time: Firing begins at 9 a.m.

Location: SIRPC Indoor Range, Indian Creek Shooting Center, 5950 Gun Club Road, Georgetown, Indiana 47122.

Rules: All current NRA rules will apply. Current NRA classifications will be used or temporary scorebooks. All others will fire in the master class. Competitors (excluding juniors) must be members of the NRA.

Air Pistol and Air Rifle: Unlimited sighters. Air Rifle and Air Pistol will be fired concurrently. Targets will be changed after each twenty shots taken. All targets will be scored by competitors upon completion of firing. Only .177 caliber air guns can be used.

Free Pistol: As we anticipate only one relay for Free Pistol, it will be fired after a short lunch break, upon the completion of the air gun matches. Fired at 50 feet. Total of 60 shots slow fire for record. Targets will be changed after each 10 shots. All targets will be scored by competitors after completion of the match. Any .22 caliber pistol or revolver may be used. All handguns must be single-loaded even if semi-auto or revolver.

Facilities: As there are only ten firing points in the range, pre-registration is necessary to insure a firing spot. If there is enough interest, a second relay will be conducted for the air gun matches. When registering, please indicate your relay preference. There is a clubhouse located on the property with hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks, etc. available. There is a Motel 6 and restaurants located in Georgetown at Exit 19 of I-64.

Entry Fees: Adults, $10.00 per match. Juniors $5.00. Adult package fee for air pistol or air rifle AND free pistol is $15.00.

Directions & Parking: I-64 to exit 19.West on Indiana 64 through the town of Georgetown. Observe the 30 mph speed limit. After approximately 5.8 miles from the exit and about 1 mile west of Georgetown, turn right onto Gun Club Road and go about ½ mile to the entrance to the Indian Creek on your left. Go past the house on your right and the mobile home. The SIRPC Indoor Range is on your right. Park parallel to the building. LEAVE AT LEAST ONE CAR WIDTH BETWEEN YOUR VEHICLE AND THE BUILDING’S YARD.

Great match- great bunch of folks- worth the drive!

Did we ever get the issue of "dual score reporting" (NRA and USAS) figured out?

Our match is an NRA Approved Match. We will only be reporting scores to the NRA. To report to USAS we would have to get our match approved by them as well and charge an additional match fee. We haven't had any requests to do this. Another club north of us in Columbus, IN did this last year. I don't think that they had any interest, so I believe that they dropped dual reporting this year.

Spots are filling up fast for the first match of the season on Saturday, Oct. 24th in Georgetown, Indiana. There is only one slot available for the first relay. Only one air rifle shooter is signed up for now, and two free pistol shooters. Make plans now to attend and make your reservations.

Friendly Reminder
Please remember to use equipment that conforms to the rules. There will be an equipment check at the Sectional Matches. Air and Free Pistol shooters are required to use shoes that do not reach the ankle. Make sure that if you have aftermarket grips on your air pistol, that it fits in the box. Make sure that your air pistol trigger makes minimum weight. You can peruse the NRA rulebooks online at:
